[two_third] Annual lock wheel at Swarkestone Lock from 10 am until mid afternoon on Saturday April 6th.

This is an annual event when we set up a stall selling merchandise at the lockside and do the work of opening locks in return for a donation from the boats passing through. It’s good fun and no experience is required.

The lock wheel was well attended by volunteers, thank you to attendees. Unfortunately boat traffic was limited to about 12 boats, and at one stage we even had a queue! The opportunity was taken to inform a number of walkers and cyclists re the Trust’s plans.

Swarkestone lock can be found by taking the road to Swarkestone from the A50 and turning right up Pingle Lane.
