The third working party in as many weeks once again saw the teams turn out at Borrowash.
Our aim this week was to complete the tidy up of the area after all the dangerous trees that we have felled, it is pleasing to see that all the logs that we left at the side of the canal path have been taken away by local residents, some smaller off cuts have been left in certain area to allow natural habitat to take over.
Two teams set out, one at Station Road to remove the remaining trees from the canal bed and to log them down to a manageable size for removal by any one that can use them.
The second team started clearing all the off cuts from the canal banks to a safe area just off the canal line, again with the intention to let nature take over and recycle these for us.
Work will now move over to Sandiacre on the 8th May, a general tidy up of the stretch but before this we will be at the Breaston Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday, come along and meet us.
