This week saw the return of the working parties turn up at Draycott with yet another new face to welcome to the growing band of volunteers that keep turning out, a glorious late Summer morning with bright sunshine.
This weeks aim was to prepare the ground for spraying of the Japanese Knotweed that is now becoming more of an issue across the countryside. The Society now has a fully trained volunteer to spray this problem weed with the ambition to eradicate it from the canal bank and pathways. The work involved clearing scrub from the bank to allow safe and secure access with the required equipment to allow treatment early next year subject to the required approval from the relevant authorities.
Work will continue on the working parties throughout the Autumn and Winter periods, full detail are available here along with full details of our social evenings and future AGM.
