The Derby and Sandiacre Canal Society has enjoyed a very busy month in June, we have attended three shows, Hayworth Park in Sandiacre, The Spirit of Chellaston Show and the Spondon Day.
All of the shows have attracted new members and sales of our merchandise are going well, all this is helping to fund the on-going aim to restore the canal to its former glory.
Also in June we held our annual walk along a stretch of the canal, this year was held at Sandiacre, the area that we are soon to start work on digging out the lock that joins the Erewash Canal, a damp evening, but well supported!
Work is also going on to start work at restoring water to two areas on the stretch, watch our web page to keep updated; www.derbycanal.org.uk
Our working parties continue, we have attended Sandiacre, Borrowash and Draycott in June, full details of future events are available on our web page.
