Following the Government’s relaxation of the ‘lock down’ rules, the DSCT have decided to reinstate our Gardening Working Parties on the canal route. During lock down ‘mother nature’ has been hard at work, and the parts that didn’t get tidied 12 weeks ago are now looking neglected.
Working in line with the relaxed restrictions, we are returning to our Wednesday and Sunday morning Working Parties. Work will be limited to areas where we can achieve Social Distancing and limit the sharing of tools. Initially the groups will include ‘invited’ volunteers. However, this can be expanded to any volunteers who wants to attend. Being outside, we can always find more vegetation that needs our attention. Risk Assessment and Method Statement have been created along with a Site Induction form for the Gardening Working Parties. The SI form, which must be signed and returned before attending a working party, includes a ‘Expected Standard of Behaviour’ for the volunteers, which they will be asked to agree to. We would like to invite all our previous Gardening volunteers to site, however, if you feel that you are in an ‘at risk’ group or are unwell, please stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you when it is over. There will always be more working parties??
If you want to attend one of our Working Parties, please contact Eddy Case, to ensure that you know where we are working and that he knows you will be attending. We will be sending weekly emails to the volunteers who have said they want to help to let them know what we are planning and where we will be.
Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again.
