It must be the warmer days that are now creeping up on us, but this week saw a record number of volunteers turn out on Sunday at Draycott to help us try to complete our aim to finish the hedge laying this year. We managed to have two teams laying the hedges and removing the debris, one team completed the public notice board repair that should now last for a few more years and another team started work on clearing some of the saplings that are beginning to establish themselves in the bank, these would eventually damage the canal bank and cause problems later if allowed to grow.
One more working party to go at the hedge laying before the birds move in to start nesting should see us very close to completion. Our last social evening again saw an increase in attendance and work is under way to get our e-commerce page up and running. We are still drawing new members in with our “friends and family” offer that has been continued on from Christmas, full details are available on our Join Us page.
