The canal society AGM will be held from 8pm at the Wilmot Arms, Borrowash DE72 3HA on Tuesday 25th October. This is the notice calling all members to attend. I have attached the minutes of the last AGM and the Agenda for the coming one. As you’ll see we will have reports on progress on working parties – where Eddy’s teams have made a significant impact over the last year – and as usual this will be in full Technicolor. Anne will also tell you what to look forward to in our meetings for 2017. It’s a very varied and entertaining/educational list. I’ll also give you an overview of where we are with the restoration programme and you can get an up to the minute report on our plans for Draycott. Of course we can also talk about how to deal with trams that are interested in taking over our route. So please come along and participate.
You will have noticed that we are calling for more support from our members. I don’t doubt that you want it as badly as I do, but progress is dependent on the hours input and we now need to push on with the funding applications, which requires admin effort. If that doesn’t appeal could you take on a post on committee and release someone else to do it? Please consider it and if you aren’t sure or have any questions email or call me.
Of course our working party activities continue and the next meetings will be at Draycott on Sunday 16th and Sunday 30th October and at Borrowash on Weds 19th October and 2nd November. Come and join us and see how much progress is being made first hand.
Thanks again for your support.
