Duncan Grewcock – ‘Restoration of Beeston Lock Cottages’

This is the final invitation of the year for our Society Social Meeting.

Our speaker will be Duncan Grewcock from the Beeston Lock Cottage Project. He has been involved in the management team that restored the cottages. Their project is similar to our own cottage restoration work at Draycott and shows some of the challenges that were overcome and the impact that the successful completion has meant.  The old lock cottage at Beeston was restored using HLF funds and now operates successfully as a cafe with heritage. We had been in contact with the trustees there to get tips on our own project to restore our canal cottages at Draycott. We thought you’d like to see how they approached it and the lessons we can draw from their approach.
