This Sunday the team met up with some of the local residents at Borrowash to attempt to clear some trees and bramble that have become an issue on one of the footpaths crossing the canal line.
A record number of helpers turned out from both teams and this meant that all the work planned was carried out in a single morning.
The Society intend to return back to Borrowash over the coming season to carry on with more work that is needed on the far bank to remove saplings that are blocking natural light out from the gardens and are also impacting on the canal bank and bed.
The extreme dry weather so far this year has also meant the we have been able to inspect some of the canal walls that are now visible on the far bank as you along walk this popular stretch.
The Annual General Meeting for the Society is planned for Tuesday 27th October at the Wilmot Arms in Borrowash, full details of this and the planned working parties for this winter can be found on the website.
