The Canal & River Trust actively supports restoration with a dedicated Restoration Team; this is a marked change in attitude from the former British Waterways organisation.

The Restoration Team has a dedicated Restoration section on it’s website that:

  • has a map of lost waterways around the country; the Derby Canal is number 27
  • champions volunteering
  • articulates the benefits that can be derived from restoring a canal including a great video
  • provides a photo gallery
  • provides a restoration toolkit; which has a wealth of technical and practical solutions for organisations such as our own.
