Following the visit of the Inland Waterways Association / Waterway Recovery Group (IWA/WRG), to Borrowash Bottom Lock in July this year, on the hottest week of the year, we have been successful in securing a return visit in 2020.
The visit is planned for Saturday 25th July to Saturday 1st August 2020. We have various plans for their visit including further work at Borrowash and some new work at Sandiacre. Some of the work will be subject to some sewer pipe movements in conjunction with STWA, which we will have to raise funds to finance. Their accommodation will be the same as last year at West Hallam Village Hall and the local pub, across the road from the hall, has been warned about the invasion. We look forward to a successful visit from the volunteers and hope that the weather is kind during the week.
