DESCRIPTION:Now we have completed Christmas and a New Year is upon us\, we are holding a Sunday Lunch fundraiser at the Coach and Horses in Draycott. \nThere will be a two course traditional Sunday Lunch with a choice of two desserts to follow – the main course will be a platter of meats with all the usual trimmings. \nCost will be £15.00 per person and we will be holding a raffle to raise even more funds for the dig out of the first stretch. \nWe have 30 places available on a first come first served basis\, lunch will from 12.30 on the 14th January. \nPlease let Eddy know if you would like to attend and to book your seats – any offers of prizes for the raffle would also be more than welcome.

DESCRIPTION:Duncan Grewcock – ‘Restoration of Beeston Lock Cottages’\nThis is the final invitation of the year for our Society Social Meeting. \nOur speaker will be Duncan Grewcock from the Beeston Lock Cottage Project. He has been involved in the management team that restored the cottages. Their project is similar to our own cottage restoration work at Draycott and shows some of the challenges that were overcome and the impact that the successful completion has meant.  The old lock cottage at Beeston was restored using HLF funds and now operates successfully as a cafe with heritage. We had been in contact with the trustees there to get tips on our own project to restore our canal cottages at Draycott.
