SUMMARY:Society Social Meeting - The Riverboat Project - "Canal" Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Canal Society walk this year will be on Tuesday 26 June. It will start at 7.00pm from the main steps of the Council House\, on the corner of Corporation Street and Derwent Street in Derby.   \n It will be a circular walk along the River Derwent from the city centre to Darley Abbey\, up one bank and back down the other. \n The main theme of the walk will be the Riverboat Project\, the objective of which is to instigate boat trips from Derwent Bridge to Darley Abbey. Explanations of how the project is being developed and how it will work will be given at various points on route. \n There will be a few stops along the route to point out historical aspects of this part of Derby. \n The walk is 3.5 miles long and is mostly flat\, with few gradients. \n

DESCRIPTION:Working Fridays – Draycott – Canal Cottages Restoration \nWork Description: \n  \nCome and lend a hand with our restoration of the Coop Cottages (formally called the ‘Canal Cottages’ in the 19th Century). \nCurrently\, we are performing site clearance\, but have also progressed onto the more complicated building works for the canal cottage restoration. \nTo Bring: A Smile\, refreshments\, stout shoes\, hand held cutters/rake\, other handheld tools that may be useful. \nHS&E requirements: \nFull PPE required – it is a working building site. \nHard Hats will be provided. SUMMARY:ECP&DA 50th Anniversary Rally 2018
DESCRIPTION:The Erewash Canal Preservation and Deveopment Association (ECP&DA) will be holding a rally to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the ECP&DA and also the 45th anniversary of the reopening of the Great Northern Basin over Spring Bank Holiday weekend 26-28th May 2018. They hope that around 100 boats will be moored along the Erewash Canal and in the Great Northern Basin\, Langley Mill NG16 4AA \nThe Derby & Sandiacre Trust (D&SC) will have a Stall over the long weekend\, so any of our supporters are most welcome to come and enjoy the long weekend with us! \nFind out more on the ECP&DA website
