DESCRIPTION:DSCT Members Social Meeting – Talks for 2024\nThe Derby & Sandiacre Canal Trust invites a guest speaker to present to the Trust on a topic of interest. From experience they are usually very engaging and interesting (at least for those that enjoy Canals\, History\, Engineering\, Nature\, and all things in between). \nIn 2024\, this meeting will be held the fourth Tuesday of each month. Meetings will continue to be held at the First Floor\, Canal Cottages\, Draycott DE72 3PE \nOur first tranche of speakers/events are summarised below:\nTues 23rd January – Cliff Lea – “The life of James Brindley” \nTues 27th February –  Keith Blood – “The Friargate Line“ \nTues 26th March – Gerald Price – “The Woodland Trust” \nTues 23rd April -Stephen Flanders –  “The Ilkeston Tramway“ \nTues 28th May – David Ramshaw – “The Carlisle Ship Canal” \nTues 25th June – DSCT walk – “A walk between from Draycott to Breaston to show plans and progress. Meet at the Draycott Café at 6.30pm” \nTues 23rd July – Bob Williams – “Lichfield and Hatherton Canal” \nAugust – No Meeting \nTues 24th September – Keith Blood – “The Friargate Line” \nTues 22nd October – AGM 2024 (details to follow) \nTo help pay for the speakers\, a small fee is paid on the door: \nMembers: £2 \nNon-Members: £3 \nWhat to join in? – Become a member today!
